Full Circle launches its support for a new set of dancers who competed for the first time as a unit at the NY Metro League bboy battle in Brooklyn.
Kilo, Nakata, And Soul Junkie are that next cycle of FC dancers to develop their mastery in our midst. It will take a community to raise these young urban dance warriors. Shea and Kid Flash are also on the verge of bringing it to the next level. Beastie who just announced she is to give birth in December performed her best at Dance Delight to give her last b girl performance as she enters the motherhood phase with love and support from the dance community.
The Door which is a center where Kwik and Rok have been offering a dance program since 2000 and is the place these new dancers have been going to train their skills, is now enacting budget cuts due to arts funds deficits and is looking for ways to support this dance class. Please join the Door Family facebook page to help with this necessary arts cause. We are saddened by the arts funds cuts but also know this is a time to actively pursue our desire to keep dance alive in our community. We will make this program a staple of NYC because so many want to keep it alive and will take action- be it writing letters to public officials or emailing TV shows etc.. Hip-hop is alive and well and we hope you participate in this group effort to save this dance space. Please watch a video created by the youth as a testimonial to their love of dance and the Door dance program.
