Full Circle Fall 2011
Kwikstep has a set of Technics 1200's that were gifted to him by Tino of the Cut Master T Fame. So now some of our aspiring young DJ's are getting a chance to get on the 1's and 2's to sharpen their skills and try out new technology.
Full Circle's Ironman hosted his Urban Movement Tour dance competition in Philadelphia with Kwikstep and Kid Glyde as judges along with Rafael Xavier. House, all style, and breakin crew /2 on 2 battles were some of the competitions. Crews came from all over.. including our crew from NYC with some heads from Jersey city
and b girl Brava from Boston. Shout to Bebo, Shorty, Sweet Lou, and Shelly!

Kwikstep began teaching at Newark's Central H.S. as part of NJPAC's new Hip-hop History class. Uday, Dajhia and Martha Diaz have been envisioning a Hip-hop class that can bring entrepreneurialism and the elements of Hip-hop culture together. These High School students take a Hip-hop technique class then take a business and social awareness class building up to a performance in the Spring.
Rokafella was invited to screen All The Ladies Say for the Hip-hop U.N.I.T.Y conference at Northeastern Illinois University. Aiko flew in from San Jose, CA to teach dance class along with Rokafella and they were joined by Lady Champ for the post screening discussion both nites. The concert included a bgirl performance with Mystify, Champ, Aiko, Rok, Erin Boogie, Dream and Maya. Thank you to Lady Gemstar, Kid Jungle and Cris for helping to organize. We hope to return soon to do more work.
The afterparty was at Hollywood and DJ RonRon played the beats for dancing and freestyling on the mic.

The bgirls of Full Circle have been working on a production of Iona Rozeal Brown's fine art entitled Yestermore scheduled for opening in November. Yestermore is a fusion of Japanese traditional theater, Breaking and Vogueing. Beasty, Lady Beast, Mona Lisa, GI Jane, Roka and Phoenix took a Kabuki Workshop with Sachiyo Ito to become familiar with Iona's passion for NO Theater and Japanese folklore.
Rokafella showed trailer at NBK Studio on Bright St Jersey City for their youth open house. She hopes to screen full version sometime this Fall please stay tuned if you live in the area. To view trailers please log onto www.alltheladiessay.com
Upcoming company performances include a school assembly on the 18th, a fund raiser for NYC hospitals on the 28th at Paradise Theater in the Bronx. Rokafella will perform at Bard College on the 26th for Momma's Hip-hop Kitchen and on the 27th for Ashani Mfuko's Kiner Hour Enterprises radio show anniversary.
On October 24th the Bessie's will convene again to award NYC area dancers and performances at the Apollo theater. Please show your support and attend this ceremony as it recognizes dance in the NYC scene.
