Behind the Groove in March was a great party since so many gathered to celebrate a fellow dancers birthday-- Yasmine of the HDC fame enjoyed her birthday cake and songs!!
Also celebrating a birthday was Street dance veteran Alien Ness!
Sunday is the day Full Circle trains its members in technique and vocabulary of Breaking. At the end of the sessions, boot camp is necessary so they understand how to harness strength and stamina. Members of Full Circle are not auditioned, instead word of mouth or a recommendation from a present member is how dancers are invited to join. If their vision aligns with what Full Circle is offering then they remain and commit to crew activities or company performances. One such Sunday, the legendary dancer Kujo visited the session and
One of Full Circle young dancers- Kamsy 'Kid Flash' Duarte-(pictured above with the white headband) will be performing his one man show work-in-progress "Now and Then" at La Tea's "The One Festival" on April 10th at 8pm and April 21st at 5pm. He wrote this psuedo biographical play and it is Directed by Kwikstep and Dramaturg by Rokafella. Please support the growth of one of Full Circle's rising stars as a triple threat--- Dancer Actor and writer!!!

Thank you to Jimmie Briggs for screening "All the Ladies Say" at a 25 CPW Gallery as part of the "Through our Lens" Women's History Month photo exhibit. Germany's DJ Tigra, NYU's Martha Diaz and Rokafella (pictured below) discussed perceptions of success and women's roles in Entreprenurial -Educational- Entertainment realms.
Rokafella then performed at a lounge with Keny Zulu and Kwikstep for a half hour set in the Lower East Side. Remixes of her songs with samples from Inner city and a bolero plus Full Circle B boys jammed out adding to the vibe.
Full Circle participated in the TED X Teen conference at Scholastic Auditorium along with speakers from all over the planet who inspired those gathered to envision a unique path, to figure out new ways to face challenges and to never take no for an answer when dealing with your passion.
Technology, Entertainment and Design is not only for adults but for teens who know what they want.. and even for those who are not too sure. The conference was live streamed and Full Circle received great feedback. The impossible is possible.
Also participating in the We Are Family Foundations night out, Full Circle performed with Nile Rodgers , Impact Repertory Theater, 3 Dot Dash and the Meaningless Theater Troupe to help raise awareness about the importance of Teenage Global Leadership taking place TODAY... Thank you to Robert Galinsky who made these two back to back performances possible! Thank you to Jess Teutonico and we wish her luck with all her upcoming projects!
Rokafella helped to organize a fundraiser event to benefit the LGBT Center on 13st. The event entitled Old School Flygirl Throwdown included established artists such as Charan P Morris, Chicago's DJ Brina, DJ Val (both pictured below with Rok) and up coming artists like Coyote, Amika and LAdy T who hail from the programs at the Door. A bigger group of dancers joined the Full Circle Soulsistas who brought their Momma's hip-hop Kitchen Lisa Lisa performance to the floor. This time B birl T Rex, Halle, and members from the Door- Storm and Kiba added to the flavor! Thank you to Paul Menard and Yojani Hernandez at the LGBT Center for helping us make it happen, Thank you to Kenneth at GMHC for providing rapid HIV testing and to Anthony Roduriguez from the Door for inspiring the Door singers/poets to participate.

April 10th is the next Behind The Groove party at the gallery at Le Poisson Rouge 158 Bleeker st. In addition to Second Tuesday we are adding ANOTHER night to the groove. Last Thursdays at the Yotel will be launched on APRIL 26th!! Same vibe, Same price but this venue has allowed space for dance contests. Look out for a 1 vs 1 House dance contest with winner taking home $300. Guest judges will be Bravo, Sekou and Tony McGregor!!!!! Join us! Spread the word!

April 4th at 4pm Webster Branch--1465 York ave ( 78th street-- 6 train to 77th st)

open to all ages and dance levels!! Sneakers and comfortable clothing suggested.
Full Circle is rehearsing to premiere its newest work "Sole Intention" at BAAD on May 12th with dancers-- Sole Junky, Tiffany Craddock, Spexx, Firelock, Kid Flash, Rokafella and Kwikstep and musician Keny Zulu. Support has been received from the Jerome Foundation. We hope you will join us and bring a friend or family member.
